Children
If you are a parent, guardian or carer of a child (your child) enrolling with (currently enrolling or waitlisted) or using Journey Early Learning services, you consent on behalf of your child to our collection, use, storage and disclosure of your child’s personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and any other arrangements that apply between us and you and/or your child.
What is personal information?

What personal information do we collect and hold?
The personal information collected by us depends on the relationship between us and you.
If you are a parent, guardian, carer, child in/seeking our care, an employee of ours or a service provider, we may collect the following types of personal information:
- identity information such as your name, gender, date and place of birth, sex, title and other such identity information;
- contact information such as your residential and postal address, phone numbers, email address, and other such contact information;
- social media handles and addresses; or
- government identifiers such as drivers licence details, passport details and birth certificate details.
If you are a parent, carer, guardian, a service provider to us or an employee or a service provider of ours, we may also collect the following types of financial, professional and employment related personal information:
- your financial information such as bank account details, credit card number, debit card numbers, superannuation details and payment/payroll information;
- government identifiers such as your tax file number, Centrelink Customer Reference Number, Medicare reference numbers and ABNs and ACNs;
- employment and business information such as job titles, details of business, experience and/or academic and professional qualifications, work history, third party references, communications (including notes from meetings and telephone call recordings), feedback or survey responses provided to us, information collected from clearance questionnaires and/or interviews and performance records and notes; or
- social and demographic information such as health information, medical history, information about national origin or immigration status, or optional demographic information
If you are a child, or the parent, guardian or carer of a child, enrolling for or receiving services from us, we may also collect the following types of childcare related information (which may include personal information and sensitive information):
- medical and health information such as immunisation status, dietary requirements, medical conditions and details of medical care needs, physical and social developmental information, any additional special needs, clinically relevant family medical history, the name of any health service provider (including but not limited to private medical insurance) or referred medical specialist, copies of any letters of referrals and copies of any reports;
- social and familial information such as care arrangements including custody agreements or parenting orders, specific religious or cultural requirements, languages spoken and details of nominated emergency contact people; or
- photographs and video recordings of or including children and work samples of children.

- when you use our forms or apply for our services;

- when you email us, post us your information or call us over the phone;
- when you apply for a job with us or during the course of your employment with us;

- when you provide feedback or make a complaint to us.
We may sometimes collect personal information about you through a third person or from other sources, such as a parent, guardian or carer, our third-party suppliers, service providers and contractors who assist us to operate our business (such as a third-party payment gateway, recruitment agencies and vetting agencies), from third persons authorised by you (such as your referees or representatives) or from publicly available sources of information.
What purposes do we collect and use personal information for?

- to provide early education and child-care services to you or your child;
- to provide services associated with the well-being, protection, and development of your child;
- to contact you and provide resources we consider helpful in supporting you or your child’s journey and milestones;

What if you don’t give us your personal information?
If you choose not to provide certain personal information, then we may not be able to provide the product or services you require, or the level of service that we would like to provide. We may also not be able to employ you or engage you as a service provider.

Accessing and correcting your personal information
You may request access to your or your child’s personal information held by us.
If at any time you believe that our record of your or your child’s personal information is incorrect, you may request us to correct it.
You may also authorise another person to request to access or correct your or your child’s personal information on your behalf if you are unable to yourself. This authority must be in writing and a copy must be provided to us. The authority must name the person whom you authorise to access your or your child’s information.

We aim to respond to requests within a reasonable period, usually within 30 days after we receive the request.
Occasionally it may take us longer if your request is particularly complex or if you have made several requests. We will let you know and keep you updated if we cannot respond in 30
days. We may charge a fee for accessing or correcting your or your child’s personal information if it is reasonable for us to do so (for example, there are a substantial number of requests in respect of your or your child’s personal information or if the request is unreasonable or requires substantial work on our part).

If you have any questions, concerns or a complaint regarding privacy, please contact us at contact@journey.edu.au.
Upon receiving a complaint, we will review and consider the complaint. If the complaint requires further investigation, we will acknowledge receipt of the complaint and try to carry out the investigation in a timely manner. We may seek further information from you to assist with our investigation. We will then inform you of our findings about your complaint.
We will try to complete our investigation and respond to the complaint within 30 days. We will let you know if we expect it take longer than this to resolve.
