Journey Early Learning Durack Heights is where your child’s journey begins. Children from ages six weeks to six years are surrounded by stimulating learning environments and nurturing educators. It’s a place where children can make a positive start to a life of learning, development, growth and opportunity. This centre is conveniently located next to the Journey Durack centre.
From peek-a-boo to prep, we’re here every step of the way.
School transition is a major focus, and we work hard to ensure this is a smooth process. By providing a safe and secure environment, our children develop confidence, resilience and a strong sense of self for the school journey ahead.
In order to ensure every child is prepared for school, our Kindergarten classrooms are intentionally designed by our Teachers to align with the Journey Standards and the Early Years Learning Framework and Curriculum. Our Government Approved Funded 3 and 4-Year-Old Kindergarten Classrooms are run by ACCEQA approved Early Childhood Teachers and Qualified Educators. Children enrolling in our 4-Year-Old Kinder Program are provided with ongoing support from teachers in preparation for school through our School Readiness Program.

Hi there! Welcome to Journey Early Learning Durack Heights. My name is Emily, and I am an Early Childhood Educator. I have always been drawn to infants from a very young age, so becoming an educator was a natural progression for me. In fact, I started as a work experience student back in 2010 while completing high school, and since then, I have had the privilege of working in various roles, including Educator, Lead Educator, Educational Leader, Assistant Manager, and Manager.
Throughout my 13 years in Early Childhood Education and Care, I have had the opportunity to travel to many places around Australia, as well as study Early Childhood Education settings in New Zealand. However, my favourite part of working with children is being able to provide them with positive lifelong experiences from such a young age. I thrive on navigating the challenges they offer, and I believe that my career motto says it all: ‘never underestimate a child’. I see children as capable decision-makers from birth and trust them to initiate, explore, and self-learn.
I am particularly obsessed with Magda Gerba’s RIE Approach, which focuses on respectful interactions and relationships with infants and young children. My ultimate career goal is to support both adults and children to have a voice, be confident, and find their best path in life. So, come and join me at Journey Early Learning Durack Heights, and let’s make every moment count for your child’s development!

Exploring nature-based play

Children love getting out and exploring in nature. It really is the greatest teacher. Nature based play is a core part of our curriculum. That’s because it teaches them vital life skills including confidence, independence, exploration and cooperation. Playing outside also promotes health and wellbeing and teaches them respect for the environment.
