Celebrating Learning with Journey Riverhills Inspiring Insights: Guess Who?

Guess Who

During this pedagogical season of Understanding Behaviour and changing mindset I have been challenging our team to reflect on what language we were using about children when talking about them, and how this affects not only our view of the child, but others as well. Enter the good old game of Guess Who! We purchased 2 sets of this classic game and we customised the boards so that they contained images of our children and educators, and added an extra set of player cards to match. The team was set up in small groups of 2 or 3 educators, each with a board and a set of cards. Each educator had a turn of Guessing Who their child was….but they were not allowed to used physical descriptions such as “Does this child have brown hair?” or “Is this child wearing a red shirt?” all questions were to use positive language to describe behaviour or disposition of the child.
