Journey Early Learning Centre Thomastown is where your child’s journey begins. We provide a nurturing environment filled with curiosity, wonder and joy. It’s a place where children aged from six weeks to six years of age can make a positive start to a life of learning, development, growth and opportunity.
Our brand new centre is purpose built to spark curiosity and create joy. We provide a supportive environment where children can participate in a wide range of exciting play-based learning activities, including adventure gardens, a water play area and even a rock climbing wall to build their confidence. Our regular cooking classes are a particular hit with the children. We are passionate about guiding developmental outcomes and providing a creative environment for our little adventurers.
We love being part of Thomastown, and think it’s vital that our children get to explore their local neighbourhood. That’s why we take them on mini adventures to the train station, library and even our local coffee shop. Sometimes we simply take a stroll through the neighbourhood to say hello to the neighbours.
From peek-a-boo to prep, we’re here every step of the way.
School transition is a major focus, and we work hard to ensure this is a smooth process. By providing a safe and secure environment, our children develop confidence, resilience and a strong sense of self for the school journey ahead.
In order to ensure every child is prepared for school, our Kindergarten classrooms are intentionally designed by our Teachers to align with the Journey Standards and the Early Years Learning Framework and Curriculum. Our Government Approved Funded 3 and 4-Year-Old Kindergarten Classrooms are run by ACCEQA approved Early Childhood Teachers and Qualified Educators. Children enrolling in our 4-Year-Old Kinder Program are provided with ongoing support from teachers in preparation for school through our School Readiness Program.

Hello! I’m Kat, and I feel incredibly lucky to lead the amazing team here at Journey Thomastown. With 10 years of experience in Early Childhood Education, I’m deeply passionate about supporting children as they flourish and grow. Currently studying my Bachelor of Early Childhood Teaching, I’m committed to my own learning journey so I can provide the very best for the children, families, and educators in our community.
I feel truly grateful to work alongside such a talented and dedicated team. Together, we create a warm and nurturing environment where children feel safe, inspired, and confident to explore the world around them. My greatest ambition is to see every child as the unique individual they are, support every step of their journey, and work in close partnership with families to ensure they’re thriving — so we can celebrate every precious milestone together.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my husband, our two dogs, and our cat. I’m also passionate about nature, photography, and art, and find inspiration in the world around me. And here’s something fun — I’m a big fan of hip hop and absolutely love attending music festivals to soak up the energy and creativity of live performances!
If you have any questions, would like to know more, or simply want to see what makes our centre so special, I’d love to connect with you — just reach out or book a tour today.

Exploring nature-based play

Children love getting out and exploring in nature. It really is the greatest teacher. Nature based play is a core part of our curriculum. That’s because it teaches them vital life skills including confidence, independence, exploration and cooperation. Playing outside also promotes health and wellbeing and teaches them respect for the environment.
