Journey Early Learning Centre Templestowe is where your child’s journey begins. We provide a nurturing environment filled with curiosity, wonder and joy. It’s a place where children aged from six weeks to six years of age can make a positive start to a life of learning, development, growth and opportunity.

Journey Templestowe is a warm and welcoming centre, designed around your little explorer and nature-based play. Our outdoor play area has two undercover playgrounds with sandpits, surrounded by native and edible gardens where our little adventurers can get messy in the dirt. We’ve also renovated our kitchen so we can prepare healthy and delicious Wholesome Child meals onsite. All in all, it’s the perfect space for little explorers who have a natural sense of curiosity and yearning for adventure.

We love to connect with our local community, that’s why we invite organisations like the Police and SES over to our centre. Our little adventurers love these interactive learning experiences. One of their other favourites is Happy Feet, a dance and learning program. We also run regular date nights and family breakfasts inspired by Wholesome Child.

From peek-a-boo to prep, we’re here every step of the way.

School transition is a major focus, and we work hard to ensure this is a smooth process. By providing a safe and secure environment, our children develop confidence, resilience and a strong sense of self for the school journey ahead.

In order to ensure every child is prepared for school, our Kindergarten classrooms are intentionally designed by our Teachers to align with the Journey Standards and the Early Years Learning Framework and Curriculum. Our Government Approved Funded 3 and 4-Year-Old Kindergarten Classrooms are run by ACCEQA approved Early Childhood Teachers and Qualified Educators. Children enrolling in our 4-Year-Old Kinder Program are provided with ongoing support from teachers in preparation for school through our School Readiness Program.

“Beautiful staff. New, amazing facilities. Small and great community feel. My kids love it there!”

Amy

Hi. My name is Leonie and I have been involved in the early childhood sector my entire career. I started as an assistant working with kinder age children, then went on to gain my qualification as a pre-school Mothercraft Nurse which gave me the passion to work with nursery aged children. I continued to develop my skills and education, and recently completed a Certificate 4 in Training and Assessment. I have owned two of my own child care centres, and I am now the Centre Manager for Journey Templestowe. With all of my experience, I understand the importance of creating a warm, caring environment, where children, families and educators can come together to share, learn and grow. A place where we can nurture authentic connections with our children, families and our local community.

Exploring nature-based play

Children love getting out and exploring in nature. It really is the greatest teacher. Nature based play is a core part of our curriculum. That’s because it teaches them vital life skills including confidence, independence, exploration and cooperation. Playing outside also promotes health and wellbeing and teaches them respect for the environment.
