Journey Early Learning Centre Templestowe is where your child’s journey begins. We provide a nurturing environment filled with curiosity, wonder and joy. It’s a place where children aged from six weeks to six years of age can make a positive start to a life of learning, development, growth and opportunity.
Journey Templestowe is a warm and welcoming centre, designed around your little explorer and nature-based play. Our outdoor play area has two undercover playgrounds with sandpits, surrounded by native and edible gardens where our little adventurers can get messy in the dirt. We’ve also renovated our kitchen so we can prepare healthy and delicious Wholesome Child meals onsite. All in all, it’s the perfect space for little explorers who have a natural sense of curiosity and yearning for adventure.
We love to connect with our local community, that’s why we invite organisations like the Police and SES over to our centre. Our little adventurers love these interactive learning experiences. One of their other favourites is Happy Feet, a dance and learning program. We also run regular date nights and family breakfasts inspired by Wholesome Child.
From peek-a-boo to prep, we’re here every step of the way.
School transition is a major focus, and we work hard to ensure this is a smooth process. By providing a safe and secure environment, our children develop confidence, resilience and a strong sense of self for the school journey ahead.
In order to ensure every child is prepared for school, our Kindergarten classrooms are intentionally designed by our Teachers to align with the Journey Standards and the Early Years Learning Framework and Curriculum. Our Government Approved Funded 3 and 4-Year-Old Kindergarten Classrooms are run by ACCEQA approved Early Childhood Teachers and Qualified Educators. Children enrolling in our 4-Year-Old Kinder Program are provided with ongoing support from teachers in preparation for school through our School Readiness Program.
Did you know that your child can attend Journey from 6 weeks to their first day of school?
We’ve designed a helpful Child Care Subsidy calculator so you can discover more about your government entitlements. Need help? We’re here to chat, just book an appointment below.
“Beautiful staff. New, amazing facilities. Small and great community feel. My kids love it there!”
Hello, my name is Toula and I am the Centre Manager at Journey Templestowe.
I have been an Educator for over 15 years. There are so many wonderful aspects about working with children but to me one highlight is being greeted with smiling happy little faces who are eager to chat when they see me each day.
I am also a mother of two wonderful girls. In our spare time we enjoy making memories beachside no matter what the season, as well as doing art activities at home.
I take pride and feel fortunate to be a part of such a vital stage of a child’s life, as they explore with curiosity the world around them. I am enthusiastic about supporting children and using their interest to build new skills. As the saying goes, “it takes a village to raise a child” and striving to provide that safe, healthy environment where children feel secure to flourish, in partnership with educators and families is my passion.

Exploring nature-based play
Children love getting out and exploring in nature. It really is the greatest teacher. Nature based play is a core part of our curriculum. That’s because it teaches them vital life skills including confidence, independence, exploration and cooperation. Playing outside also promotes health and wellbeing and teaches them respect for the environment.
