Journey Early Learning Richmond is where your child’s journey begins. We provide a nurturing daycare environment filled with curiosity, wonder and joy. It’s a place where children aged from six weeks to six years of age can make a positive start to a life of learning, development, growth and opportunity. The early learning centre is conveniently located in the Epworth Hospital Medical Centre on Lennox Street in Richmond, providing childcare services to Richmond and surrounding areas. Our centre is located less than 4km from Melbourne CBD, with a unique play space that overlooks the city for those looking for childcare near you in Melbourne city.
Journey Richmond is a warm and homely early learning centre that inspires adventure and joy. The centre is designed around your little explorer and play-based learning. We have a large, undercover, outdoor play space with a sandpit and water play area to provide the best daycare environment. Our big spacious rooms are completely refurbished and we even have our own sustainable vegetable garden. Our play spaces inspire children to work together with their friends to conquer milestones with confidence through our play-based learning approach.
We feel it’s important to inspire our little adventurers and support the local community, so we’ve developed special relationships with Tim from T&G Sports. Seeing as we are centrally located, we also undertake regular expeditions to the museums and local cafes. We love the diverse cultures represented at Journey Richmond, so we hold regular cooking classes, focused on a different cuisine each week.Find out more about our community connect & Inspire program.
“The educators go far and beyond what is required of them. They are always thinking of new activities and ways to engage the children. My girls love going to Camelot. Thank you, Josi and team.”
Welcome to Journey Early Learning Richmond. My name is Josi and I have been working in the early childhood sector for over 7 years. I started at Camelot, now Journey Richmond as the Lead Educator/Educational Leader in 2013. In 2015, I went on maternity leave and returned to Journey Richmond in 2018 as Assistant Centre Manager/Educational Leader. I had the opportunity to work with all age groups during these years, and I have been involved in many community engagement experiences and sustainability projects together with our team of educators. I’m eager to continue role modelling how to be considerate to our environment, and how to build and maintain a great sense of belonging with our community. I believe in honest and transparent communication with families, children and my team. I feel a strong sense of connection with our existing families and look forward to building meaningful and respectful relationships with new families.

Exploring nature-based play
Children love getting out and exploring in nature. It really is the greatest teacher. Nature-based play is a core part of our childcare curriculum. That’s because it teaches them vital life skills including confidence, independence, exploration and cooperation. Playing outside also promotes health and wellbeing and teaches them respect for the environment.
Leading the way in childhood nutrition and positively impacting the health & wellbeing of children in our care. Journey Richmond is partnering with Wholesome Child to provide solutions for fussy eating & dealing with allergies.
