Journey Early Learning Richmond is where your child’s journey begins. We provide a nurturing day care environment filled with curiosity, wonder and joy. It’s a place where children aged from six weeks to six years of age can make a positive start to a life of learning, development, growth and opportunity. The early learning centre is conveniently located in the Epworth Hospital Medical Centre on Lennox Street in Richmond, providing childcare services to Richmond and surrounding areas. Our centre is located less than 4km from Melbourne CBD, with a unique play space that overlooks the city for those looking for day care centre near you in Melbourne city.
At Journey Richmond, we’ve created strong partnerships with nearby local health services. We’re proud to give back to employees at Epworth Hospital and Epworth Medical Centre by providing them with a fee discount and priority of access. Located on level 3 of the Epworth Medical Centre, we’re open long hours (6:45am – 6:00pm) with session times to suit individual needs. For more information regarding this partnership, please contact our enrolments team directly on 03 9005 4650.
Journey Richmond is a warm and homely early learning centre that inspires adventure and joy. The centre is designed around your little explorer and play-based learning. We have a large, undercover, outdoor play space with a sandpit and water play area to provide the best daycare environment. Our big spacious rooms are completely refurbished and we even have our own sustainable vegetable garden. Our play spaces inspire children to work together with their friends to conquer milestones with confidence through our play-based learning approach.
We feel it’s important to inspire our little adventurers and support the local community, so we’ve developed special relationships with Tim from T&G Sports. Seeing as we are centrally located, we also undertake regular expeditions to the museums and local cafes. We love the diverse cultures represented at Journey Richmond, so we hold regular cooking classes, focused on a different cuisine each week. From peek-a-boo to prep, we’re here every step of the way.
School transition is a major focus, and we work hard to ensure this is a smooth process. By providing a safe and secure environment, our children develop confidence, resilience and a strong sense of self for the school journey ahead.
In order to ensure every child is prepared for school, our Kindergarten classrooms are intentionally designed by our Teachers to align with the Journey Standards and the Early Years Learning Framework and Curriculum. Our Government Approved Funded 3 and 4-Year-Old Kindergarten Classrooms are run by ACCEQA approved Early Childhood Teachers and Qualified Educators. Children enrolling in our 4-Year-Old Kinder Program are provided with ongoing support from teachers in preparation for school through our School Readiness Program.
Did you know that your child can attend Journey from 6 weeks to their first day of school?
“The educators go far and beyond what is required of them. They are always thinking of new activities and ways to engage the children. My girls love going to Camelot. Thank you, Josi and team.”
Welcome to Journey Early Learning Richmond. I’m Sara and I have been in the early childhood sector since 2017. I was Journey Richmond’s Educational Leader prior to my current role as Centre Manager. I work closely with our team to create a warm and welcoming environment for our children and families. We take pride in building authentic connections with our existing families and look forward to building meaningful relationships with new families. Please feel free to pop in for a coffee and a chat.

Exploring nature-based play
Children love getting out and exploring in nature. It really is the greatest teacher. Nature-based play is a core part of our childcare curriculum. That’s because it teaches them vital life skills including confidence, independence, exploration and cooperation. Playing outside also promotes health and wellbeing and teaches them respect for the environment.
Leading the way in childhood nutrition and positively impacting the health & wellbeing of children in our care. Journey Richmond is partnering with Wholesome Child to provide solutions for fussy eating & dealing with allergies.
