Discover Journey Early Learning Indooroopilly
Where Every Day Feels Like Coming Home

Nestled in the heart of Brisbane’s western suburbs, Journey Early Learning Indooroopilly is a place where children feel at home, families feel connected, and learning happens naturally through care, curiosity, and play. From the moment you step inside, you’ll sense the warmth and genuine connection that defines our Journey community — where every child is nurtured, supported, and celebrated for exactly who they are.

Located at 1 Rylatt Street, Indooroopilly, QLD 4068, the centre is open Monday to Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. With bright and engaging spaces designed for children aged six weeks to six years, Journey Indooroopilly offers the perfect beginning for your child’s lifelong love of learning.

Why Families Love Journey Indooroopilly

Families often describe Journey Indooroopilly as their “second home” — a place filled with familiar faces, laughter, and care that extends far beyond the classroom.

  • A truly nurturing environment: Each child is seen, heard and supported by educators who genuinely care.

  • Beautiful spaces made for discovery: Every room is light-filled, safe and thoughtfully designed to inspire imagination and independence.

  • Learning that feels like play: Children explore, experiment and make sense of their world through hands-on learning guided by the Early Years Learning Framework.

  • A community that welcomes everyone: Families are embraced as partners in their child’s learning journey, building friendships that last well beyond the early years.

Learning for Life

The Early Years Learning Framework is at the heart of the centre’s approach, providing a strong foundation for a positive start in life and fostering a lifelong love of learning.

A Place Built on Care and Connection
Personalised Care for Every Child

No two children are the same, and at Journey Indooroopilly, that’s something to be celebrated. Our educators take the time to understand each child’s personality, interests, and strengths. Whether it’s helping a little one settle into nursery or encouraging curiosity in our pre-kinder explorers, every moment is guided by respect, empathy and love.

Nurturing Growth Through Food and Play

At Journey Indooroopilly, mealtimes are just as important as storytime. Through our Future Foodies program, our in-house chef prepares fresh, nutritious meals each day — introducing children to new flavours, seasonal produce and the joy of eating well. Food becomes a moment of connection, culture and learning.

Learning continues outdoors, too. Bush kinder excursions, gardening, and messy play invite children to explore with all their senses, fostering resilience, confidence, and wonder.

Safety and Peace of Mind

Your child’s wellbeing always comes first. Journey Indooroopilly follows the highest safety standards, from secure entry systems to regular safety checks and staff training. Parents appreciate the reassurance that comes from knowing their child is cared for by a dedicated team that treats safety as an extension of care.

Learning Through Joy and Discovery

Play is of how we learn at Journey. Guided by the Early Years Learning Framework, our programs are shaped by curiosity, creativity and exploration. From sensory play and science experiments to group storytelling and music, every day is filled with opportunities to imagine, create and connect.

Children learn best when they feel safe and happy — and at Journey Indooroopilly, play-based learning ensures that education never feels forced, but flows naturally through meaningful experiences.

The People Who Make the Difference

Behind every child’s smile is a team of passionate educators who bring dedication and heart to everything they do. Our team — many of whom have been with Journey for years — are constantly learning and growing through professional development and mentorship, ensuring that every child benefits from the latest research and best practice in early childhood education.

Centre Manager Michelle leads with warmth, openness, and an unwavering commitment to children and families. Parents often share that their children “run through the door each morning” — a true sign of a place where children feel safe, loved and excited to learn.

A Community That Feels Like Family

Journey Indooroopilly is more than a childcare centre — it’s a community. Through excursions, family events, and cultural celebrations, we create opportunities for children to connect with the world around them and learn about diversity, respect and belonging.

We believe children flourish when they feel part of something bigger. Whether it’s visiting local aged care homes, celebrating cultural festivals, or inviting families to join our Connect Calendar experiences, we help children understand that kindness and connection can make a difference in their community.

What Families Say

With a 5.0-star rating across multiple platforms, it’s clear that families see Journey as more than childcare — it’s a partnership built on respect and love.

School transition is a major focus, and we work hard to ensure this is a smooth process. By providing a safe and secure environment, our children develop confidence, resilience and a strong sense of self for the school journey ahead.

In order to ensure every child is prepared for school, our Kindergarten classroom is intentionally designed by our Teachers to align with the Journey Standards and the Early Years Learning Framework and Curriculum.

Our Government Approved Funded 3 and 4-Year-Old Kindergarten Classrooms are run by ACCEQA approved Early Childhood Teachers and Qualified Educators. Children enrolling in our 4-Year-Old Kinder Program are provided with ongoing support from teachers in preparation for school through our School Readiness Program.

Hi, I’m Michelle. I am the Centre Manager at Journey Indooroopilly.
I have been a part of the Journey family and sector for over three years.
I am inspired by my own children and the children that I am privileged to work with every day. I have always wanted to make a difference in the lives of children and create a better, more understanding world for them, especially those with additional needs and those who come from troubled backgrounds.
Outside of the centre, I love to pack up the car and caravan, put away my phone and find a secluded spot to hide away and spend quality, uninterrupted time with my family.
I look forward to seeing you in the centre!

Exploring Nature-Based Play

Children love getting out and exploring in nature. It is the greatest teacher. Nature-based play is a core part of our curriculum. That’s because it teaches them vital life skills including confidence, independence, exploration and cooperation. Playing outside also promotes health and well-being and teaches them respect for the environment.
