Join Us For The Journey Ballarat Community Day

Introducing the new Journey Early Learning Centres Lucas Rise and Ballarat East.
What do you do as a good neighbour and reliable partner in the community when you move into one or, in our case, two new houses? You invite all your neighbours to come and visit you. And because we at Journey want to be just that, a good neighbour and reliable partner in the community, we invite everyone.
On 25 February between 9am and 1pm we will be hosting our Journey Ballarat Community Day and look forward to welcoming you.

The Journey Early Learning Centres
Ballarat East & Lucas Rise open their doors in autumn 2023

The location for our Journey Community Day is special. It is our new Centre Ballarat East. Initially, it was reserved for a mental hospital. But then the whole site then became associated with child welfare services from 1865 until the mid-1980s. The building that now houses the new Journey Early Learning Centre was built in 1929 and known as the toddlers’ block. It made up only a tiny part of whole the site. Later, in 1987, the area was adapted for use by St Paul’s Technical School. Followed by the most recent occupant of the site from 1995 to 2010: The Damascus College, a secondary co-educational school. But most recently the building stood empty for almost ten years before Journey came to take care of it.

Lucas Rise, on the other hand, the second Journey Centre to open its doors in the region this autumn, is a completely new purpose build centre. And even though the two centres seem to be very different, all Journey Centres have more in common than what sets them apart. It is the desire to integrate as much natural light as possible, to have as much air as possible upwards with high ceilings, and to use warm neutral colours for walls, furniture, and artwork and of course the amazing food program Future Foodies. The result is that warm, welcoming atmosphere where everyone feels quickly at home.

Two places of growth and opportunities for children and childcare professionals.

“It is with great excitement that we look forward to the opening of our Lucas Rise and Ballarat East Journey Early Learning Centres. Both centres are designed to provide a safe, nurturing and educational environment for children from birth to school. Our facilities are equipped with everything you could wish for, and of course, a wide range of excellent resources to support children’s learning and development. We look forward to welcoming new staff who share our commitment to quality childcare.” says Ryan Meldrum, Co-Founder of Journey Early Learning.

And mentioning that: For those interested in joining the Journey team, our open day is an excellent opportunity to meet the staff and learn more about the opportunities Journey offers.
